Opt-In To Community Cents.
Join fellow members who have decided to take part in this new program that began in January 2020. The Community Cents program is designed to help make a difference for some of our members who need a hand up and not a handout. The program is operated and funded independently from Jump River Cooperative. This program relies solely on the contributions from our member owners that have opted to have their bill rounded up. The average member will see about six dollars ($6.00) a year go towards this program.
The funds that are collected through this program may be applied for by members and nonprofit organizations in the JREC service territory. You can sign-up for the Community Cents program by completing the below online form or by filling out the opt-in form on the back of your energy bill.

You Spoke – We Listened!
After receiving input from our member-owners and after thoughtful consideration of the feedback received, the board of directors has decided against the opt-out provision. The Community Cents program will now be an opt-in program.
The intention of the board was to get the program up and running as fast as possible and to help make a difference for some of our members who need a hand up and not a handout. In retrospection of the decision that was originally made to opt all members in, on behalf of the Board we apologize.

The Community Cents board of directors is made up of one member from each district and will evaluate each application submitted. The information on the application is very in depth and is used by the board to reach a majority decision before funds, if any are dispersed.
The committee of district representatives will provide a report at each year’s annual meeting and a copy of the financials will be available.
Thank you for your input on this issue, we will continue to listen to our members.
