Dairy Farm Rewiring Loan and Grant Program
Wisconsin electric cooperatives have developed a uniform statewide farm rewiring program entitled "Safety First!" The purpose is to assist dairy farmers with the cost of rewiring projects and to promote safety. Note, dairy includes sheep and goats as well as cows that are kept for the production of milk.

No Cost Farm Energy Audits
GDS Associates, a third-party energy engineering firm, recently received a USDA grant to provide free energy audits for farms and businesses across the state. The program also includes follow-up support to help participants get ready to apply for REAP or EQIP funding. This funding can be leveraged in combination with our Energy Sense Program.
A few key points:
- The program is available to all farms,
- The program is also available to rural small businesses (need to meet USDA definition of “rural” and meet small business size standards per NAICS),
- Funds are available to all of Wisconsin, on a first come first served basis,
- The deadline to use the funds is October 2027, and
- Right NOW is an excellent time to sign up to receive an energy audit well ahead of the deadline.
